Taylor Damitio
I founded Denver Therapy Collective with a deep commitment to creating an inclusive space where therapy comes from collaborative, genuine connection. I understand my personal responsibility to acknowledge and challenge my own perspectives, and I continuously educate myself on social and political issues that impact the wellbeing of my community. These are the core values of my practice, and I believe they are essential for every therapist.
In sessions my clients are met with my warmth, humor, and grace. I firmly believe the client knows best and my role is to encourage meaningful exploration and vulnerability. Together we determine the best course of action and clients know I support their choices. My professional approach is Person-Centered, Existential, and Solution-Focused. I am sex-positive, anti-racist, and gender-affirming. I also work with all religious backgrounds, belief systems, and lifestyles.
I began my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2013 and completed my Master of Arts in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arizona in 2022. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors. I’ve completed Levels I and II of Gottman Method Couples Counseling and am comfortable working with relationships of all structures and sexualities. I currently hold a Facilitator in Training license from Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies Office of Natural Medicine and can legally work with clients seeking psilocybin mushroom therapy. Areas of Expertise
In my years of practice, I have been most drawn to self-esteem, identity, relationship work, and psychedelic assisted therapy. The most rewarding moments are those where clients meet themselves with deeper understanding and compassion. I pursue extensive education in the following areas to support my clients needs from an inclusive, practical perspective rooted in feminism and advocacy.
Depression & Anxiety
Depression and anxiety can make everyday life feel heavy and unpredictable. I work with clients to untangle the thoughts and patterns and to build skills for coping, emotional regulation, and grounded decision-making. I can also provide a referral for further psychiatric evaluation and medication management when appropriate.
Partnerships
Whether monogamous, poly, or open, relationships come with evolving needs, challenges, and seasons of change. I utilize multiple research-based approaches to help partners strengthen communication, navigate misunderstandings, and deepen emotional connection, no matter the structure and values of the relationship.
Grief
No two experiences of grief are the same. Grief affects us emotionally, physically, and relationally, changing the way we see ourselves and the world around us. I help clients understand the shape of their grief and define the meaning of healthy coping and healing.
LGBTQIA+
I understand the nuances of the LGBTQIA+ experience and continue to pursue education to support trans and nonbinary individuals in my community. I am dedicated to creating a safe, affirming space where clients can explore their identities, navigate relationships, and address the unique challenges they may face. Learn more here.
Dating & Relationships
Relationship work is some of the most challenging yet transformative work that I do, and I love helping my clients develop the skills to shape their relationships into spaces where they can be themselves.
Psychedelic Therapy
I have over 256 hours of training with psychedelic integration and use Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for treatment resistant symptoms. I also practice psilocybin assisted therapy with my Facilitator in Training license through Colorado DORA’s Office of Natural Medicine.
